Cape Town Waterfront

Waterfront and Table Mountain from the Ferris Wheel

April 14th.  Today we drove into Cape Town (about 35 mins from Somerset West) and headed for the waterfront.  The light was wonderful -- a brilliant blue sky day.  Table Mountain was incredibly clear. Seals were cavorting in the harbor.  Musicians were playing on every corner.

Nancy and I took a ride on the Big Ferris Wheel and lingered in craft stores.  My sister-in-law, Carol,  joined us for a fish dinner on Quay Four --  seagulls whirled above us in a pink evening sky – and then we went to the Fugard Theatre to see “Broken Glass” (by Arthur Miller) an extremely powerful and moving play which was brilliantly directed by a friend of mine,  Janice Honeyman.
