Threading Images

I am back in Durham and have spent days happily surrounded by my beautiful beads.

For me, creating necklaces is just what the doctor ordered -- a perfect way to restore my energy and spirit as I recover from a miserable head cold that is taking its time to leave.

It's still wintery here in North Carolina.  Nature contracted. Bare branches, chilly days. Browns and greys. The occasional tease of warmth.  Spring coiled, soon to erupt.

I work on my designs wearing heavy sweaters and warm socks, hot lemon and tea at my side.
And all the while, colors and vistas from my time in the Seychelles and two glorious months in South Africa play themselves out along the threads of my necklaces..

Many thanks to my dear friend Nancy for her genius in making my
photo and necklace combinations sit side by side.
